How did SHYpractice begin?

“Hi my name is Sarah and I am the in-house yogi and owner of SHYpractice. SHY has been in the making since Spring of 2018 when I was in a motor vehicle accident. I was T-boned and suffered from whiplash and a concussion. From that moment I had no other option than to dedicate my life to my health and wellness. It took me while to adapt to my new life routine of appointments and my own healing practices.”

“I started practicing yoga in 2010 and started teaching in 2017. I was teaching at Modo Yoga North Vancouver, Burnaby, East Vancouver and Squamish.

Unfortunately I had to stop teaching because I couldn't move or think properly. Luckily, my chiropractor at the time referred me to Briana, Jessica and Andrea. They are 3 registered kinesiologist with 25+ combined years of experience working in the industry who we now know as Kinected Strength. To make a long story short I saw these ladies for active rehab and they helped me build my strength, mobility and confidence. This training combined with my own practice of meditation and yoga and my team of practitioners helped me move forward on my healing journey.”

“Fast forward to May 2020, the middle of our first lockdown. I received a Craigslist add from a yoga student saying she remembered me saying that one day my dream was to have my own space and she thought I should take look at a building on East Esplanade. One thing lead to another I crossed paths with Kinected Strength and we joined forces and opened SHYpractice October 2020. It was quite the ride of ups and downs but we survived the worst. We started as 3 and now we are 13. This has been a hard learning experience but I wouldn't change it for the world. I am so excited to see our SHY family grow and build our practices together as we help our community on their health and wellness journeys.”
